Fort Wayne played host to the first professional baseball game ever played on May 4, 1871. The game was a fierce battle between the Cleveland Forest Citys and Fort Wayne’s own Kekiongas. It was rained out in the top of the ninth inning, but by then, the home team was up 2-0.

Thinking about grabbing a drink after your deposition?  If so, be sure to grab a seat guys. Men are prohibited from standing at the bar.

Fort Wayne is the final resting place for John Chapman, also known as Johnny Appleseed. Fort Wayne is the 76th largest city in the United States and the second largest in Indiana after Indianapolis. Under the direction of American Revolutionary War statesman Anthony Wayne, the United States Army built Fort Wayne last in a series of forts near the Miami tribe village of Kekiongain 1794. Named in Wayne’s honor, the settlement established itself at the confluence of the St. Joseph River, St. Marys River, and Maumee River as a trading post for European pioneers. The village was platted in 1823 and experienced tremendous growth after completion of the Wabash and Erie Canal and advent of the railroad. The city is also a center for the defense industry which employs thousands in the city.
